In February of 2007, media reports stated that British philanthropist Sir Richard Branson is offering $25 million dollars to the inventor of a mechanism that will actively absorb and store carbon dioxide. Wow! That means that Sir Richard Branson owes God $25 Million! Skeptics argue that eccentric gajillionaire Branson owes the money to “evolution,” yet both sides of the debate are hard-pressed to find a bank account for either party. The conclusion, however, is clear: Whoever invented trees, grass, the ocean, and the “mechanisms” of our mother earth is in for a real treat! Yes, Sir Richard Branson owes the inventor of trees $25 million dollars. “Does my shovel count?” asks a local gardener. Except, who invented the shovel? Sir Richard Branson’s reward strikes out before it’s even gotten to the plate. Unless I win, because I recognized the misguided nature of Sir Branson’s reward...maybe it was a trick question...more like a riddle than a call for a “mechanism.” Sir Branson...are you playing games with us again? C’mon...fess up...you know that nature provides all we need to heal the ecosystem, don’t you? All we need to do is nurture it, and it will do the same for us.
